Mantrailing/Detection Instructor

Roberta was born in Genoa in 1987, she has a master's degree in Education Sciences and a master's degree in Psychology. Roberta attends a specialization at the University of Genoa in "Criminology and forensic Sciences". She worked with the Laboratory of Animal Cognition (University of Trieste) for a post doc Internship based on the study of dog sense of smell. Roberta teaches mantrailing and detection throughout Europe and the United States. Roberta in recent times has focused on the training of conservations dogs and mobile phone detection dogs. Thanks to this activity she was speaker at the Conference for the presentation of the ENCI-ISPRA agreement. Roberta nasce a Genova nel 1987, è laureata magistrale in Scienze della Formazione e laureata magistrale in Psicologia. Roberta frequenta un Master di II livello presso l’Università degli Studi di Genova in “Criminologia e Scienze Psico-forensi”. La sua grande passione per i cani ha fatto si che i suoi lavori di tesi riguardassero la zooantropologia didattica, l’olfatto del cane da lavoro ed i cani specializzati in ricerca resti umani. Roberta insegna mantrailing e detection in tutta Europa e negli Stati Uniti. Si occupa dell’addestramento di unità cinofile per la ricerca persone e la detection di sostanze. Roberta negli ultimi tempi si è concentrata sulla formazione di unità cinofile per il monitoraggio faunistico-ambientale. Grazie a questa attività è stata relatrice alla Conferenza Stampa per la presentazione dell’accordo ENCI-ISPRA. Collabora con il Laboratorio di Cognizione Animale dell’Università degli Studi di Trieste. Sta seguendo un progetto sperimentale sulla dissonanza cognitiva nel cane. I am Ivan Girardon

Police Officer / SAR K-9 Handler Police officer since 1991, he was Technical Operator at Alpine Rescue Service since 1997 and K9 Handler/Instructor operational in Air Scent, Avalanche and Mantrailing. Ivan today teaches mantrailing and detection throughout Europe and the United States. Ivan Girardon ha completato il percorso di formazione per Educatori Cinofili presso Wild Dog ASD. Ha avviato le pratiche per ottenere l’attestato di Educatore Cinofilo AICS, Ente di Promozione Sportiva del CONI. Educatore cinofilo per ACSI settore Cinofilia, Formatore cinofilo certificato DTP-SU. E’ istruttore mantrailing per l’International Bloodhound Training Institute (USA), istruttore di detection per Scent Imprint for Dogs (Olanda). Dopo un’esperienza ventennale nel CNSAS – Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico presso il quale ha rivestito anche il ruolo di istruttore nazionale Unità Cinofile da Soccorso (Valanga), oggi insegna mantrailing e detection per l’INBTI e AAK9 in seminari in Italia, Europa e Stati Uniti. Valeria started her K9 career 7 years ago with a dog trainer course. She become mantrailing instructor in 2014 and she teaches mantrailing all around Europe. In 2017 she get a certificate as Detection Instructor Valeria, si occupa di cinofilia per passione da 7 anni. Ha conseguito Diplomi di Educatore Cinofilo CSEN, ed oggi è Formatore Cinofilo Certificato. E’ addestratore ENCI – Ente Nazionale Cinofilia Italiana. I am Steven Mayer

Mantrailing Instructor, North Dakota (USA)

I am a native of North Dakota (ND), USA. I graduated High School from a small rural school in ND and obtained my Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Minot State University. In 2014, I completed my Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from the American Military University with an emphasis in Emergency Management.   My work experiences include private security, North Dakota State Penitentiary (NDSP) Sargent and Squad Leader of the tactical team, and in 2005, I joined the North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper and became a K-9 handler. I have received numerous training in weapons and tactics and currently a certified weapons instructor along with additional certifications in active shooter instruction and routinely teach at the North Dakota Law Enforcement Academy.  It was while my tenure at the NDSP tactical team that I was first introduced to bloodhounds and the strengths they can bring to an emergency response team. I been stationed in Bismarck, ND, USA as a road Trooper for the ND Highway Patrol. In 2006, I joined the Highway Patrol’s Emergency Response Team and became actively involved in the aviation program as a Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) operator in ND Highway Patrol’s aircraft operations. In ,2014 I took on the role of K9 handler and obtained the NDHP’s first Bloodhound, Boudreaux.  Since obtaining Boudreaux, we have had the pleasure of traveling throughout the United States taking in training supported by the INBTI as well as completing the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Human Scent Evidence Technician School. In 2017, I became an assistant instructor with INBTI and currently I am an active bloodhound handler with in the NDHP and will be receiving a K9 puppy to begin training in the spring of 2019. Sinds de begin jaren ’90 is Hotsche Luik MSc. actief in de hondenwereld. Begonnen als gecertificeerd instructeur, gediplomeerd gedragstherapeut en vervolgens ook als gediplomeerd trainer is zij inmiddels al vele jaren eigenaar, mede eigenaar en consultant van een aantal bedrijven met name in Nederland en Engeland. HL, Scent Detection Academy en Advanced Canine Technologies® zijn hiervan de meest bekende voorbeelden als bedrijven, academy en geregistreerd merk. Daarnaast is zij mede eigenaar van de Bournepark Gundog kennels in Engeland en Nederland en mede ontwikkelaar van het fokprogramma waarin gezondheid en inzetbaarheid de belangrijkste aandachtspunten zijn. Jaren is zij betrokken geweest bij het plaatsen en herplaatsen van honden uit laboratoria en diverse andere achtergronden waar als eerste een veilig huis de opzet was en als tweede de mogelijke inzetbaarheid of trainbaarheid. DipHE Animal Behaviour and Welfare, University of Chester City and Guilds Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) (6302) In her previous roles, Louise has countless hours of experience in the below topics, she continues to provide these services as part of Specialist K9 Consultancy. Live body detection – Louise trained and supplied dogs to the UK Border Force for the detection of stowaways in Calais, a project that saved immigration bosses a significant amount of money. Explosives detection – working at the Paris air show, the Natural History Museum, Wembley Stadium and the prestigious QE2 arrival in Liverpool, to name just a few. Cadaver detection – Louise holds the dubious honour of being the first female cadaver dog handler in the UK. Tobacco and cash detection – working in association with HMRC and Trading Standards head-trainer Louise trained the first dogs to be used by a private company on large-scale, UK-wide projects for government agencies. Her work set the standard for similar collaborations throughout the UK. Drugs detection – working with North Wales police to conduct drug searches in bars and nightclubs and community intervention via schools’ demonstrations and screenings.
